Learning management system for security, privacy, and compliance training built for Atlassian Confluence Cloud.

The Interactive Awareness Program (IAP) for Confluence is a low-cost learning management solution for IT security, privacy, data, and compliance awareness training — embedded directly in your Atlassian Confluence Cloud instance.

Organizations must provide required IT security, privacy, and compliance awareness training. Vendors often offer training through their own portals, forcing staff to switch between different URLs and risking missed invitations. Unicis IAP provides an all-in-one training solution for Data Protection Officers (DPOs), CISOs, and Compliance Officers to create, communicate, and coordinate training programs across teams in a single place.

Features

  1. Admin interface for categorizing training, adding content, and creating quizzes to gauge participant comprehension
  2. User course list showing all available trainings with status, expected duration, and success rates
  3. PDF certificate generation for each participant with the selected organization’s name
  4. Compliance reports for auditors with training status, average pass/fail scores, and other data
  5. Three default categories: IT Security, Data Privacy, and Compliance (additional categories can be added at any time)

Requirements

  • Atlassian Confluence Cloud (not available for Server or Data Center)
  • Requires read, write, manage, and storage access to your Confluence account
  • Course data is stored in your Atlassian Cloud instance — not shared with Unicis

Installation

Install from the Atlassian Marketplace.

During installation, you will be asked to grant access to the following third-party domains (required for course content delivery):

  • youtube.com

Administrative Setup

After installing the application:

  1. Click Apps in the top Confluence header
  2. Click Manage apps → Allow access
  3. On the left sidebar, click Unicis IAP Admin

The admin panel provides:

  • List of courses
  • Filter by category
  • Filter by status (To Do, In Progress, Completed)
  • Per-page display count
  • Sort by columns
  • Actions per course: Edit, Completion Results, Status Results, Delete

Company Details

Click the gear icon in the admin panel to add your organization’s name. This name will appear on all generated PDF certificates.

Categories

Three default categories are provided: IT Security, Data Privacy, and Compliance.

To add custom categories: click + Category, enter the category name, then click Save.

Create a Course

Click + Course to open the course creation dialog:

  1. Enter the course name
  2. Select a category
  3. Add course content (see content types below)
  4. Enroll groups to assign the course
  5. Add a thumbnail URL (Unsplash images only; defaults to IAP logo if empty)
  6. Add quiz questions

Course Content Types

Add a URL link to a YouTube video. Copy and paste the video URL in the format:

youtube.com/watch?v=[id]

Add an embedded PDF document or presentation from Google Drive.

Steps: File → Share → Publish → Embed → copy only the URL from the src="" attribute (without the brackets).

Write course content using Markdown format with no character limit. A live preview is displayed on the right side.

Enroll Groups

Select one or multiple Confluence groups to enroll in the course. All users who are part of the selected groups can attend the training.

Provide a URL for a thumbnail image shown in the course card list.

Quiz Questions

A single checkbox question. Only one answer is correct.

Multiple answers are correct. Trainees must select all correct options.

Answer a question by arranging pairs in the correct numbered sequence. Work pairs are ordered by numbers (1 — question, 2 — answer). Answers are presented to the trainee in random order.

Free text input with no character limit and no format restrictions. Answers are case-insensitive: Text, text, and TeXt are all accepted as correct matches.

Course Actions

  • Edit — only available while the course status is To Do
  • Completion Results — per-user completion report with pie chart
  • Status Results — per-user pass/fail with number of right and wrong answers
  • Delete

  1. Click Apps in the top Confluence header
  2. Select Unicis IAP Course List

Course cards display: thumbnail image, course name, category, status, and expected training duration.

Available filters: category, status

Course Content and Quiz

Select a course to view the content with a progress bar showing quiz questions remaining. Answer each question and click Next to proceed.

Course Results

After completing a course, your score is displayed.

Course Certificate

After passing a course, a Download Certificate button is displayed. Click it to download a printable PDF certificate with your organization’s name.

Permissions

IAP performs the following actions on behalf of the user:

  • Read and write to app storage (App Storage scope)
  • Create and manage Confluence pages
  • Create and edit pages and issues in Jira and Confluence

IAP is built on Forge Custom UI and requires the following OAuth scopes:
